The Department of Earth Science is advertising a Post-Doc Position (4 years) in Tectonics & Thermochronology
We seek a young scientist who will pursue independent research on faulting and thermal evolution of the continental lithosphere. This will combine analysis of fault rocks and sedimentary basins with isotopic and/or fission-track analysis aimed at constraining the age and rates of faulting in orogenic environments. The successful candidate will be expected to compete for third-party funding programs.
Collaboration with members of the Earth Science department as well as other departments in the Berlin-Potsdam area is strongly encouraged. Teaching responsibilities include four hours of lecturing per week during semesters and supervising BSc. and MSc. students in the field and laboratory. Candidates will have a doctor’s degree (Ph.D.) in Earth Science, preferably also with post-doc experience. A strong background in field-based geological research is desired.
Further information about the position, as well as research activities and analytical facilities within the department is available on our website or by contacting Prof. Mark R. Handy (Tel. +49-(0)30-838-70311, Email: firstname.lastname@example.org).
